Mary Ann Simmons

Durham, NC – Mary Ann Simmons, age 87, died peacefully in Durham, NC on September 21, 2024. She was born on July 20, 1937, to the late Robert and Annie Cole Brown.

Mary Ann is survived by her brother, Fred Brown, and wife, Shirley of Greensboro, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her late husband of 51 years, Wayne Simmons; and her brothers, Robert Brown, Calvin Brown, and Lewis Bown. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 27th at Temple Baptist Church. Dr. Randy Carter will officiate. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Section 19.

Friends may visit one hour prior to service at the church.
