Mary Lyndon Dossett

Mary Lyndon Dossett, age 85, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Hock Family Pavilion. Mary was born in Raleigh to the late Joseph Reese and Anna Lloyd Lyndon on May 21, 1927. Mary was a long time member of Bethany Uneed Methodist Church in Durham and presently a member of Aldersgate Uneed Methodist Church. Mary is survived by her loving and devoted daughters, Linda Dossett Berini and husband, Danny, of Durham, NC; Joyce Dossett Sprouse and husband, Robert, of Chapel Hill, NC; four grandchildren, Todd Whaley, Jason Whaley, Joe Berini and Donny Berini; eight great grandchildren, Ashleigh Whaley, Sam Whaley, Hannah Whaley, MacKenee Whaley, Joey Berini, J.C. Berini, Louis Berini, and Jacksoneerini; and one great-great grandchild, Layken Parrish. Mary was preceded ineeath by her husband, Samuel Newton Dossett. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Aldersgate Uneed Methodist Church with the Reverend Doug Lain officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Pall Bearers will be Joe Berini, Donny Berini, Todd Whaley, Sam Whaley, Jason Whaley, and Joe Lyndon. All who knew Mary knew her deep love for people, animals of all kinds, plants, flowers, and Myrtle Beach. She will be remembered for being a wonderful example to all who knew her of how to live life to the fullest and how to treat all of life's gifts with care. Her love of animals canee seen ineer most recent rescue of Walter the cat who she found in Raleigh and need for Sir Walter Raleigh. She loved Walter deeply and they made great companions since findineeach other. Mary felt most blessed to have met an angel on earth during her last five years need Patricia Thorpe. Mary thought Pat hung the moon and shared many wonderful memories together.
