Mary Frances Latta Crichton

Mary Frances Latta Crichton, age 86, died Thursday, December 21, 2006 at Croasdaile Village. Mary was a Durham native born May 11, 1920 to the late Edward Jackson Latta and Martha Cash Latta. After graduating from Durham High School in 1939, Mary attended the Watts School of Nursing where she obtained her LPN license. She was a voluneer for the Red Cross Blood Mobile for many years and also voluneered at Duke Hospital. Mary was a member of Epworth Uneed Methodist Church where she loved attending her Sunday School Class, International Lesson Class. She was a bookkeeper for Duke Power Company prior to keeping the books for her late husband, David Marshall Crichton who preceded her ineeath in 1997. Mary is survived by three nieces, one nephew, and four godchildren. Along with her husband, she is also preceded ineeath by her brothers, Henry and Haywood Latta, and her twin sister, Martha Crichton. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 26, from Epworth Uneed Methodist Church. The Reverend Gene Cobb will officiate. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday prior to the service from 9:30-11:00 at Epworth Uneed Methodist Church. Pallbearers include James Rice, Frank Skidmore, Sam Hammond, Sidney Anderson, Charles Dickerson, Jr., Tom Van Arsdale, Dale Brown, George Newton and Tommy Lanning. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Durham Rescue Mission-1201 E.
