Mary Ella Currin Mitchell

OXFORD: Mary Ella Currin Mitchell, age 87, passed away May 5, 2013 at Nash Memorial Hospital. She was born in Oxford, NC to the late Sidney Thomas Currin, Sr. aneeloise Mayes Currin. She was preceded ineeath by brothers, Sidney T., Jr, Garland and J. Brent. Mrs. Mitchell graduated from Oxford High School and Greensboro College. She resided ineeldon, NC where she retired from teaching Home Economics at Roanee Rapids High School. Mary Ella enjoyed the regular fellowship of the Weldon Thursday Book Club. She also took pride in hosting and baking for family and friend's celebrations. Graveside services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery oneednesday, May 8, 2013 at 3:00 PM. She is survived by a sister-in-law and nee nieces and nephews. The family would like to particularly thank Mrs. Doris Tillery, who helped Mary Ella over the years, especially during her declining health. We would also like to thank the staff at Sterling House, Rocky Mount, NC for the care they gave. In Lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the charity of their choice.
