DURHAM- Mary Catherine Wynne, 65, died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Croasdaile Village. Mary was born in Durham to the late Willis Holland Wynne and Catherine Martin Evans. Mary attended Glenn School where she participated in square dancineevents taught by her mother. She attended Northern High School where she was also on the cheerleading squad. Mary attended Salem College for a year and then Campus Afloat, where she sailed around the world. She graduated with a business degree from UNC Chapel Hill. From early childhood Mary was fascineed with riding horses. She taught horseback riding at summer camps during her teens and later trained and showed horses in Middleburg, VA, becoming a certified class 1 rider. As an adult, she worked for Dr. Ralph Evans, her stepfather, a quality and reliability consultant. Since 2000 she also became caretaker for her mother until her death in 2005, and then for Dr. Evans who is currently living in Croasdaile Village. Mary is survived by her brother, George Victor Wynne II. Friends may visit Wednesday evening, neember 7, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service in Durham. Interment will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, neember 10, at Riverside Cemetery in Smithfield.
