Marvin Frederick High

Marvin Frederick High, 89, of 8385 Wake Road, died January 7, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Durham. Born neember 24, 1920, in Durham County, he was the son of the late John Frederick High and Myrtle Carver High Marvin was a brick mason for over 35 years and he enjoyed farming and gardening. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and he loved Good Hope Baptist Church were he was a longtime member. Marvin is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Ellis High, son, Freddie High and wife, Debbie, of Siler City; daughters, Deborah Dismuke and husband, Charles, and Theresa O'Briant both of Cary; brothers, Carver High of Leesburge, FL; Leon High of Whitaker, NC; sister, Mildred Gallagher of Richmond, VA; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded ineeath by his brother, Woodrow High. Funeral Services will be offered 11:00AM Saturday, January 9, 2010 from Good Hope Baptist Church, Cary. The Reverend Keith Vaughan will preside. Burial with military honors will follow in Brier Creek Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday evening at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
