Marvin Adams

(Durham) – Marvin Adams, 88, died peacefully at home on March 8, 2022. He was born on November 12, 1933, to the late Jasper and Hazel Adams.

Marvin retired in 1999 from JA Jones Construction Company. He was a member of Lowes Grove Baptist Church and was also an Iron Duke. In his free time, he traveled on numerous cruises all around the world and enjoyed spending time at his vacation home in Carolina Beach with family and friends.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Eleanor Wells Adams, of 58 years and his grandchild, Luke Adams, both of Durham, NC; his brother, Felton Adams of Durham; sisters, Joan Dixon, and Nancy Wood of Durham; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Laurie Elaine Adams, and several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Lowes Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Durham NC, with Dr. Gerald Goodwin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lowes Grove Baptist Church, Durham NC.
