Marilyn Kay Call, age 63, died peacefully ineer Chapel Hill home on Tuesday, January 2, 2007, of paneeatic cancer. Marilyn was born in Big Rapids, MI to the late George and Ida Kietzman Schust oneebruary 7, 1943. Marilyn graduated from Ferris State College in Big Rapids in 1965 with a BA in Math and Science Teaching. She worked as a junior high school math teacher in Indiana, Kentucky, California, and Maryland as her family moved with her husband who was a career Navy Medical Service Corps officer. They moved to Chapel Hill in 1992 whenee completed his Naval career ineew Orleans, LA. She was also an accomplished musician, playing flute, piccolo, mountain dulcimer and hammered dulcimer in both community bands and professional ensembles for many years. Her other hobbies included quilting and sewing. She was a long-time member of the Chapel Hill-Durham Sewing Guild and led neerous projects to produce handmade items for sale to raise money for various charities. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Dr. Douglas W. Call of Chapel Hill, NC; her daughter, Wendy L. Call and partner Aram Falsafi, of Seattle, WA; her son, Alan D. Call and wife, Katherine Hogg Call, of Durham, NC; and her sister, Janet Serrell and husband, Van, of Ludington, MI. A celebration of Marilyn
