Oxford: Marie Lowery Dalton, 72, of Oxford died Thursday January 7, 2016. She was a native of Virgilina, VA. She is the daughter of the late Jesse and Hallie Whitt Lowery and the widow of Phil Dalton. Marie was a retired cosmetologist and master gardener. She loved the outdoors and sharing her yard and garden with others. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor, and friend. The family will receive friends on Friday January 8, from 6:00 ??? 8:00PM at Gentry - neell & Vaughan Funeral Home and at other times at the home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00PM Saturday January 9, 2016 in the chapel at Gentry - neell & Vaughan Funeral Home by Dr. Randy Mann. Burial will follow in the Virgilina Cemetery, Virgilina VA. Surviving are her daughter Sharon C. Richardson (Carl) of Hillsborough, NC, her son Warren Cole (Penny) of Virgilina, VA, her brother Bill Lowery of Hampton, VA, her grandchildren; Jamie and Jenneer Richardson; James and Katie Cole, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
