Margaret Mccullers Hornbuckle

Margaret McCullers Hornbuckle, 91, died at home on Saturday, August 17, 2013. She was born on neember 8, 1921 in Broadnax, Virginia to the late Noel Henry McCullers and Lois Gertrude Weathers McCullers. Margaret was a long time member of Union Grove Uneed Methodist Church in Bahama, where she taught Sunday school and was active in many church circles. She was one of the original staff members of Mt. Sylvan Uneed Methodist Preschool and daycare. She was a receptionist for many years at Reliance Insurance Company and Gray Bar Electric. Margaret was a very happy lady who enjoyed reading books, bird watching, and having a good conversation with family and friends. Beside her parents, she was preceded ineeath by her loving husband, Ernest Charles Hornbuckle Jr., two sisters, Virginia Straughan and Dorothy Ross, two brothers, Bill and Spoogie McCullers. Surviving are: two sons, Paul E. Hornbuckle and wife, Ivey of Rougemont and Jerry Hornbuckle of Durham; a grandson, Paul E. Hornbuckle Jr. and wife, Amber of Mississippi; a great-grandson, Paul E. 'Tripp" Hornbuckle III; a sister, Clara M. Murray of Durham. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main St. Durham, where a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.
