Margaret Lucille Tippett Dixon, 91, of Oxford died July 3rd of 2018.?? She was born in Granville County on Jan. 1st, 1927, daughter of the late Farris Bragg Tippett and the late Joe Peace Tippett. Lucille is survived by her sons,??Harry Dixon and his wife Sharon of Raleigh and Frank Dixon Jr. and wife Marietta of Asheville as well as her daughter-in-law Susan Dixon of Charlottesville Va. Her youngest son, Kenneth Dixon; and brothers, Warren Tippett, and J.P. Tippett preceded her ineeath as did the love of her life and husband of 27 years, Frank Dixon.?? Unfortuneely,??she had to spend the last 43 years of her life without him due to an accidental death.?? She had 6 grandchildren, Brant and Kelly Dixoneetta and Farris Dixon, Daniel Bergeron and Tina Bracali; and 7 great grandchildren.?? She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Joanne Tippett; her nephew Curtis Tippett and his wife Beverly; and her great nieces, Natalie and Sydney Tippett.?? Another nephew, Jason Tippett preceded her ineeath.?? She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Marshall Dixon and wife Betsy; her sister-in-law, Eleanor Foster; and two special cousins, Nora Harrington and Sally Bragg; and several other nephews and nieces. Lucille was an avid Duke basketball and football fan for over 50 years aneenjoyed watching them on TV or listening on the radio when they weren't televised.?? She loved working ineer yard, gardening, and tending to the neerous plants and flowers at her home on Raleigh Street of 53 years.?? She enjoyed cooking and spent many hours canning and freezing vegetables from the garden and made wonderful pecan pies and fig preserves from the trees on the property.?? She hosted many family gatherings over the years and loved to visit with her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 on Friday July 6th at Banks Uneed Methodist Church located in Wilton, NC.?? Burial will follow at the church cemetery.?? The family will receive guests in the church fellowship hall after the graveside. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made in Lucille's nee to Banks Uneed Methodist Church, 2632 NC-96, Franklinton, NC 27525 or the charity of your choice.
