Marcus Bradley Ortega-Burch

Durham, NC – Marcus Bradley Ortega-Burch, age 20, entered eternal life on Friday, September 9, 2022. Marcus was born at Durham Regional Hospital on October 5, 2001, to Margaret Burch and Luis Ortega-Lopez.

Marcus graduated from Northern High School, receiving NHS Fire Academy Honors awards in 2021. Marcus enjoyed attending church services and grew to know God well. Marcus brought joy into everyone’s pathway he entered, showering them with compassion, care, and love. He enjoyed being surrounded by family whom he loved dearly. The influential, loving support shown to Marcus from his older brothers molded him to become a respectful, strong, and courteous young man. Marcus took pride in his personal appearance and health, serving as an inspiration and excellent role model to his younger siblings Kayla and Christopher. He enjoyed playing tennis and golf with his friends. Marcus’ life was enriched by his love for animals, he enjoyed frequent walks in the park with his dog, Bobo. Marcus cherished time spent with aunts, uncles, friends, and cousins, especially Daniel.

Mr. Ortega-Burch is survived by his mother Margaret Burch and father Luis Ortega-Lopez. He is survived by his four brothers – Yusuf (Shay), Adam (Jasmine), Luis (Brooklyn), Christopher, and his sister Kayla. Marcus was blessed and loved being an uncle to Amaziah and Joelle who loved him dearly.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 19, 2022 from the Hall Wynne Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.

The visitation will be held Monday from 10:00-11:00 am at Hall Wynne Funeral Service.

Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made to a local animal rescue of your choice.
