Madge Elizabeth Nicholson

Madge E. Nicholson of 1417 W. Pettigrew St. died neember 18, 2007. She was a native and lifelong resident of Durham. Madge was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Nicholson, Sr. After graduation from Durham High School, she was employed for many years by McPherson Hospital. While there, she acquired an unwavering desire for good eyesight for everyone. Some of her happiest hours were spent locating recipients for cornea transplants when corneas became available. Madge was a member of Yates Baptist Church and several business and professional clubs. Surviving are two sisters: Mrs. Vada Boardman of Charlotte, NC and Mrs. Zada Nelson and husband, Clarence; nieces: Ms. Peggy Nelson, Mrs. Pam Wheeler and husband, Doug; Mrs. Sybil McClintock and husband, Don, all of Durham; one nephew, Raymond Boardman and wife, Mary of Charlotte. Madge was a blessing to all her friends and family. A memorial service will be held at Hall Wynne Funeral Chapel, Tuesday, neember 20 at 11:30 a.m. Rev. John Frederick will conduct the service.
