Lloyd Everett "Red" Massey, age 90, resident of 133 Crestview Drive, died Friday evening at his home. Born in Durham, he was the son of the late Willie Eugene Massey and Servada Barbee Massey. Mr. Massey served in the U. S. Army during WWII. For 36 years he owned and operated the L. E. "Red" MasseyOil Company. He was a member for 60 years of Knap Of Reeds Masonic Lodge # 158, A.F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite Consistory of Raleigh, The Amran Shrine Temple and the Trianee Shrine Club. Mr. Massey was a member of Bera Baptist Church, where he was a Lifetime Deacon. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Brown Massey, two sons, Wayland Massey and wife Sharon and Michael Massey and wife, Lenee all of Durham; two sisters, Eugenis Massey Ladd of Durham and Dorothea Massey Parsons of Rock Hill, SC; three grandsons, Seth Wayland Massey, Joseph Allen Massey and Dale Timothy Massey; one great grandson , Zackery McElhaney and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Massey was predeceased by two wives, Margarite Allen Massey aneelosie Ferrell Massey; 7 brothers and two sisters. Graveside Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Jay Fogleman will preside. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to the Duke Community Hospice, 4321 Medical Park Drive, Suite 101 , Durham, NC 27704.
