Lillian Hooper Mcgary

Lillian Hooper McGary, 88, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Spring Arbor of Durham. Born in Durham, she was the daughter of the late Conrad S. Hooper aneelizabeth Overton Hooper. Mrs. McGary was employed at Wachovia Bank for 28 years and following her retirement she worked at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Mrs. McGary will be affectioneely remembered for her wonderful gift of loving all children as well as her many pets. Mrs. McGary is survived by her step-daughter, Lake McGary Aneews and husband, Tom, of Ocean Springs, MS; her grandson, Whit Aneews; her great-grandson, Joseph Aneews; nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors. She was preceded ineeath by her husband, Nelsoneeorge McGary. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 17, at Old Maplewood Cemetery off Kent St with the Rev. John Sharpe presiding. The family will receive friends following the service at Maplewood. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff members at Spring Arbor of Durham and Liberty Hospice for the wonderful care given to Mrs. McGary.
