Leola Harwood Davis

Leola Harwood Davis died Tuesday evening, September 18, at UNC Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 92 years old. Mrs. Davis was born in Stanley County NC on neember 9, 1914 to the late John C. and Mahala McClure Harwood. A long-time member of The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Durham, where she lived most of her adult life and raised her family, Mrs. Davis grew up in Raleigh and was a graduate of Broughton High School. For the last teneears she has lived happily at Britthaven of Chapel Hill, surrounded by a lovineextended family. Mrs. Davis is survived by her two children and their spouses: John Harwood Davis and wife Cheryl of Baltimore MD; Susan Nassar and husband Yves de la Queriere of Chapel Hill NC; daughter-in-law Jean Barnhill Davis of Murphy NC, originally from Durham; three grandchildren and their spouses: George Patrick Davis III
