Lavern Griffin Stott

Lavern Griffin Stott, 82, died Saturday, neember 22, 2014. Lavern was born July 29, 1932 in Franklin County to the late H. Clemmon and Athaleah Griffin. She worked for the state of North Carolina with the department of Transportation for more than 30 years, retiring in 1990. Lavern was actively involved in Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Beside her parents, she was preceded ineeath by her husband, Nelson Stott, her brother, Kermit Griffin and a sister, Rosile Tant. Surviving are: a daughter, Pamela Kearney and husband, Harold of Franklinton; a son, Anthonee. Radford of Franklinton;a grandson, Michael Kearney of Durham; a sister, Dianne Forsberg and husband, Jay of West End; four nieces, five nephews and neerous greatnieces and great-nephews. The family will be present 1-2 p.m. Monday, neember 24, 2014 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Franklinton, where services will follow at 2 pm. Rev. Carl Hunter will preside. Burial at Fairview Cemetery, Franklinton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 1245 Mt. Olivet Church Rd., Franklinton, NC 27525.
