Landis Gideon O'Briant

RALEIGH Landis G. O'Briant, 88, died Friday August 13, 2010. A native of Granville Co. and he was the son of the late William O'Briant and Rosa Lee Bullock O'Briant. He was a marine veteran of WWII, a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Raleigh. He was a retired maneer with A&P Food Stores in Raleigh. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM Monday at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home, 503 College St., Oxford, NC 27565. Burial will follow ineeadowview Memorial park with Military Rites. Surviving are his wife Juanita Beasley O'Briant of Raleigh; one son Jimmy O'Briant of Smithfield; a daughter, Leah Thorndyke of Smithfield; a brother, john Mitchell O'Brian of Sulfolk, Va.; a sister Minee Chaneer of Pittsboro and three grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 4301 Louisburg Rd., Raleigh, NC 27616. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
