Durham – Kenneth Ray Howard, age 68, died at his home on January 10, 2023.
He was born on September 28, 1954 to the late Ray Isaac Howard and Christine
Morgan Howard.
Ken worked for Mid Atlantic Stihl transferring with the company to Conway,
SC. He later went to work for Nova Lighting in Myrtle Beach, SC until retiring
and moving back to Durham. Ken was involved in many organizations and
fund raisers but the organization he loved the most was the National Wild
Turkey Federation. He was elected to the board spending many years giving
back to the community. Ken was an outdoors man, he loved to hunt but he
really loved fishing. He lived life to the fullest, full throttle each and every
day, enjoying family, friends, and music. Ken loved spending time with
friends, lifelong friends that were like family and he would do anything for
them. Ken was a loving, caring friend and he loved his family.
Kenneth Ray Howard is survived by a sister Brenda L. Howard of Mebane, a
niece Hope W. Collins (Cory) of Mebane, a nephew Morgan H. Williamson
(Jaime) of Elon, two great nieces Caitlin and Gracie of Mebane, a great great niece
Bethany Lee of Mebane, an uncle Dan W. Howard (Becky) the last of 7 brothers
still living and many lifelong friends. Kenneth Ray Howard was preceded in
death by his parents Ray Isaac Howard and Christine Morgan Howard and a
great nephew Cory Glenn Collins, Jr.
A memorial service and gathering will be on February 4th from 11:00 – 1:00 at
Yates Baptist Church in the Parlor Room.
