CREEDMOOR - Kenneth Ross 'Mac' McRae, 57, died unexpectedly Friday at home. A native of Whiteville, he was born August 6, 1949, to the late William L. aneeloise Hammond McRae. Mac enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country proudly in Vietnam. Due to disabilities from military service, he was unable to work but devoted himself to being a faithful husband, father and grandfather. Mac enjoyed playing golf, fishing and keeping himself fit through vigorous exercise. Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Bobbie Parker McRae; his children, Curtis Ross McRae, of Creedmoor and Jamie Stoker and husband, Camden, of Roxboro; grandchildren, Daniel Yearwood, and Caleb, Camden and Stephanie Stoker; his brothers, William George McRae, of Chadbourn and Phillip D. McRae, of Dunn. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward McRae. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Tabernacle of Life Church on Sovereign St, Durham, with the Rev. Roby Turner Jr. officiating. Graveside services 3 p.m. Tuesday, Columbus Memorial Park in Whiteville. Friends may visit from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the church. Hall-Wynne is serving the McRae family.
