Kathryn B. Johnson

Kathryn Baughan Johnson, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. She was born on July 3, 1926, in Mecklenburg County, Virginia to the late Frazier E. Baughan and Myrtle Ward Baughan.

Kathryn is survived by her grandsons, Clay H. Johnson of Henderson, NC and Corey H. Johnson of Castle Hayne, NC and her sister, Nancy Poteat of Windham, NH. She will be dearly missed by many extended family and friends too numerous to name.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lawrence H. Johnson, her son, Lloyd Johnson and her brother and sister.

A funeral service for Kathryn will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 11:00 am with visitation at 10:00 am at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Reverend Bruce Beck. Burial to follow the service at Meadowview Memorial.
