Kathleen Kat Morris

Kathleen "Kat" Jenkins Morris died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Durham Regional Hospital. She was 92 years old. Kat was born in Chatham County to the late T. Long and Anee Blanch Carsoneenkins on October 16, 1917. She worked for the A.H. Borland Law Firm for many years and held state and national offices in the Pilot Club, which is an exclusive club for legal secretaries. Kat was a devoted member of Pilgrim Uneed Church of Christ where she taught the children's Sunday school class for more than 50 years. She was a resident of the Eno Pointe Assisted Living Center where she had many friends and prior to that she lived on Ruffin St. in Durham. Kat is survived by her two sons, William "Bill" N. Morris and wife, Peggy, of Little River, SC; Walter "Toby" Wiley Morris, III and wife, Patsy, of Winston-Salem, NC; her sister, Evelyn Hollabaugh of Biglerville, PA; six grandchildren; neerous great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. She was preceded ineeath by her husband, Walter "Bo" Wiley Morris, Jr and her daughter, Charmayne "Tootsie" Morris Phillips. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 24, from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service with the Reverend Dr. Ginger Brasher-Cunningham presiding. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may visit from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 23, at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service. Flowers are acceptable or contributions in Kat's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
