Justine ???Grammy??? Caroline Matko Somers, 93, died unexpectedly on January 1, 2019 in Durham, NC. She was born on October 23, 1925 in Franklin, New Jersey to parents Aneew John and Julianna Kukuda Matko. Justine was an inspiring woman of bouneess interests. A graduate of Brooklyn College and New York Uneersity, she spent her professional life as an eneepreneur, a dietician, a food service director, a restauranteur, a caterer, and librarian. She was an avid reader, a swimmer, a chef, a card shark, a needlecrafter, a coin collector, a pianist, and a passionee Durham Bulls fan. Above all, Justine was a fiercely loyal friend and ardently devoted to her family. Justine is survived by her sons William and his wife Robin, Aneew and his wife Anna; her grandchildreneeredith, Marybeth and her husband Jon, Tracy, Julianna and her husband Alex, Peter; and her family by affection Craig and Josephine. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 2-4pm at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 W Main Street, Durham. NC, 27701. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 10am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 810 W Chapel Hill St, Durham, NC.
