Judith Dale Bowling Swinney

Oxford: Judith Dale Bowling Swinney, 67, of Charlotte went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 25, 2016. She was a native of Granville County, the daughter of Mary Lewis Bowling and the late O. L. Bowling, Jr.; and the widow of Vernon Eugene Swinney. Judith was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a lover of animals. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church, a retired LPN at Murdoch Center in Butner, and an avid flower gardener. Surviving in addition to her mother are her sons William L. Dixon, III of Oxford, Benjamin Scott Dixon of Charlotte; her sisters, Martha B. Owen of Oxford, Bonee Butts (Jim) of Oxford, and Deborah Royster (Ricky) of Oxford; her brothers, Lee Bowling of Oxford, and Lewis Bowling (Beth) of Durham; and her grandson Trevor Dixon of Cleveland. Judith was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis and a nephew, Ollie Bowling. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday March 29, 2016 at Providence Baptist Church by Dr. Randy Pittman and Reverend Donald Swinney. Burial will follow in the Bowling Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary of the church from 12:30 to 1:00 pm prior to the service and at other times at the home of Martha Owen.
