Joseph Lee Juel

Joseph Lee Juel, 72, died October 20, 2010 in Durham, NC after a four year struggle with cancer. He was born in Kansas City, MO on August 14, 1938, the son of Minee Allen and Vern Francis Juel. He earned a B.A. from the Uneersity of Kansas City in 1961 and served in the U.S. Naval Air Reserve from 1961 to 1969. He retired from AT&T maneement in 1994 after 33 years of service. Since 1998, he has been a member of the Westmineer Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder. During his life, he was active and served ineeadership roles in community and charitable organizations. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Martha Knox Juel of Pittsboro, NC; a son, Vern Charles Juel and wife Laura of Chapel Hill, NC; a daughter, Melinda Juel Adams and husband Christopher of Gaithersburg, MD; grandchildren Matthew, Emily, and Katherine Juel, and Patrick Adams; and a sister, Helen Juel Bennett and husbaneedward of Independence, MO. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 2:30 pm at Westmineer Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow in the church library.
