THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING ** Joseph Tipton "Buddy" Godfrey, age 75, of Sanford, NC died Saturday July 19, 2014. He was born July 05, 1939 in Harnett County, NC to the late John Robert and Mary West Godfrey. Mr. Godfrey served his country in the US Army in his early years and then started his career as a butcher and local farmer. Buddy is preceded ineeath by his wife Bobbie Jean Godfrey and his son Joseph Tipton Godfrey, Jr. Mr. Godfrey is survived by his sons, Joseph Scott Godfrey and his wife Renee of Pittsboro, NC and Christopher Damon Godfrey and his wife Tiah of Leander, TX; his daughter, Lisa White and her husband Jimmy of Pittsboro; seven grandchildren, Jenneer Black, Shannon White, Adam Godfrey, Caleb Godfrey, Taylor Pate, Danielle Godfrey, and Natalie Godfrey; two great-grandchildren, Malachai Black and Caden Black; a brother Don Godfrey and his wife Trudy of Sanford, NC; and a sister Frances Beattie and her husband Roger of Sanford.. A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Griffin Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association or UNC Hospice of Pittsboro. Hall-Wynne Griffin Chapel is serving the Godfrey family.
