Joseph Allen Carroll

Joseph Allen Carroll, age 48, died peacefully Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in his Durham home surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born in Dayton, OH oneecember 6, 1965. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Durham and devoted 23 years of his life as a dedicated firefighter for the City of Raleigh. Joe was dedicated to any activities involving his children. He was a constant presence at field trips, assemblies and sportineevents with his children at Immaculata Catholic School as well as extracurricular activities including assistant deneeader for Pack 424. His positive attitude always shown through even during his two year battle with cancer. "We will remember fondly the laughter and friendship he brought to all our lives." Joe is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Beth Carroll of Durham; his two children, David aneelizabeth, of the home; his father, James L. Carroll of Vero Beach, Fl; his brothers, Jim Carroll and wife, Cheryl, and John Carroll and wife, Julie, also of Vero Beach, FL; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded ineeath by his mother, Ruth H. Carroll. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 19, from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 810 W. Chapel Hill St., Durham, NC 27701. A reception in the gathering space will follow the mass. Friends may visit Friday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
