John Thomas Moore

Mr. John Thomas "Pete" Moore, 87, of Moncure, NC peacefully passed away neember 22, 2013 at Sanford Health & Rehab in Sanford, NC. Mr. Moore was born in Chatham County on May 3, 1926, the son of the late Emma Olivia Olinger and Raymond Lee Moore. Pete was a veteran of WWII who honorably served in the Philippines and Japan. Pete was married to the former Mary Ellen Cook for 61 years. They had six children together. Survivors include; sons, Wayne Moore of Moncure, aneernest Glenn Moore of Carrboro, NC; daughters, Jean Sullivan of Raleigh, NC, and Mary Davis and her husband Greg of Centerfield, VA; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; & one great-great-grandchild. Mr. Moore was preceded ineeath by his parents, his wife, a son and a daughter. A service celebrating the life of Pete Moore will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, neember 27, 2013 at Haywood Independent Bible Church in Moncure, NC with the Rev. Perry Cotten officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends afterwards in the fellowship hall.
