John Lambeth

John Aneew "Andy" Lambeth passed away oneednesday, July 7, 2010. Husband, father, son, brother and friend, Andy will be remembered by all for his free spirit and love of life. Though all who knew him will miss his generosity, wit, and infectious laugh, there is comfort in knowing that he is now surfing an eneess perfect wave in a heavenly ocean. He was born in Raleigh and was a longtime resident of Durham. After graduating from Raleigh Enee High School, where he played football, he attended UNC Wilmington and surfed maneearthly waves and ultimately attained a degree ineeology from Appalachian State Uneersity. He brought his talents and passion as a geologist to the Durham County Public Works Department in a long career that helped make Durham a paragon of excellence for water conservation and smart growth. Andy is survived by his wife Brenda Thompson, daughter Hannah Lambeth, parents Jim and Margaret Lambeth, and brother Tommy Lambeth. A public visitation will be held on Sunday, July 11, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, followed by a Funeral service on Monday, July 12 at 3 pm at the Hall-Wynne Funeral Service Chapel, 1113 W. Main St., Durham. A private cremationeervice will be held from the Hall-Wynne Crematory at a later time.
