Pittsboro-John Edward Stoller, 77, retired business executive aneeducator, died at Duke Hospice in Durham, on May 13, 20l0, after a long illness. Johneetired to Fearrington Village in 1997. He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY in 1932, was educated at the Uneersity of Rochester, and received an MBA at Columbia Uneersity in 1957. Several decades of work in advertising, marketing, and maneement were followed by a move into higher education in 1983 when Johneecame Vice President of College Relations at the State Uneersity of New York in Brockport. Ineetirement, Mr. Stoller helped found and organee the New Horizons Band for seniors musicians as part of the OLLI program at Duke Uneersity. Mr. Stoller is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joanne nees Stoller, of Fearrington Village; three sons, Jeffrey Julia of West Trenton, NJ; David Susan of New Canaan, CT, aneeagle Bay, NY; Aneew Paula of Towson, MD. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Meagan and nee Odell, and Katherine, Michael, John, Aneea, and Paul Stoller. A memorial service for will be held 4:00 PM on June 12 at Christ Uneed Methodist Church, Chapel Hill. The Rev. Christi Dye will preside.
