Joanneerwin Edelman

DURHAM- Joanneerwin Edelman, 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. Her battle with cancer was brief but ineedibly courageous. Joanne's greatest passion was enjoying and helping others enjoy art, particularly through her voluneer service at the Nasher Museum. Joanne retired as the principal of Pearsontown Elementary. She also served on the planning committee for the Central Park School for Children aneestablished a program for children with learning disabilities at Hope Valley Elementary School. Per Joanne's request no formal service will be held, but her family will hold a private gathering to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nasher Museum ineer honor.
