Joan Ann Freese

[one-third-first][/one-third-first][one-third][/one-third][one-third][/one-third] Joan Ann Freese (nee Walsh) died at the age of 90 with her children at her bedside oneebruary 19, 2020. She was born in Bronx, New York oneeptember 1, 1929.?? She married Robert her childhood sweetheart in 1952 and they were married for 54 years. She worked in the early years of her marriage as a clerk in the Insurance Industry.?? She lived in Indiana when Robert was in the Army, returning to Queens, New York and then Long Island after their return. She retired to Southeast Florida in 1993. Joan was involved in many community and church organizations, including Catholic Daughters and Rosary Altar Society. She was a Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout Den Mother and voluneered for Christ Child Society.?? She loved bowling, playing Canasta and she excelled at golf. She is survived by her sister Gail Harmon, her childreneerneette (Peter), Maryellen (Steven) and John (Ronda) 7 grandchildren (Michelle, Matthew, Briana, Kristen, Kayla, Morgan and Robert Alec), 2 great grandsons (William and Ryan), many nieces and nephews. Passed before her are her parents Thomas and Anna Walsh, her brothers Thomas and Richard and nephews Thomas Jr. and Richard Jr. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Infant Catholic Church 5000 Southpark Drive, Durham NC at 11AM oneebruary 22, 2020.?? Internment will follow at a later date at Riverside Memorial Park ineequesta Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Joan's nee.
