Jo Ann Pleasants Pendergraph

Jo Ann Pleasants Pendergraph, age 80, died peacefully Friday, October 23, 2015 at Hock Family Pavilion. She was born to the late Joe Mann and Lucy Hoyle Mitchell in Vance County. A member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School class, Jo Ann was a registered nurse at the Durham VA Hospital where she worked for many years before retirement. Jo Ann is survived by her loving and devoted son, Kenny Pleasants and wife, Tracy, of Durham, NC; her grandson, Nicholas Pleasants; her step-son, Tyler Pendergraph of Durham; and her step-daughter, Michele Pope of Youngsville, NC. She was preceded ineeath by her first husband, E.H. Pleasants; and her second husband, Tye Pendergraph. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service with the Rev. Ed Denton presiding. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
