Oxford Jearleaneerri Owen Woody Born May 27, 1945 daughter of John E. Jack and Lelia Riggan Owen died Thursday August 26, 2010. A Granville county native, graduate of Berea High School and Hardbarger's Business school in Raleigh, N.C. Retired from North Carolina Agricultural Department. She was member of Peace's Chapel Baptist Church and wife of Ben T. Woody for 26 years. Funeral services will be conducted at Peace's Chapel Baptist Church in Oxford Saturday August 28th at 3:00PM by Rev. Jason Hunter and the Rev. Tony Futrell. Burial will follow at Enon Baptist Church cemetery in Oxford. Family visitation will be from 1:30 PM to3:00 PM ineeace's Chapel Fellowship Hall prior to the service and at Enon Baptist Church Fellowship Hall after the burial service. Surviving are her husband, a stepdaughter Elaine Peele Sandy, a step-granddaughter Ashley Peele and a step-grandson Todd Peele Jenneer of Richmond, Virginia. A sister, Elsie Mae O. Wilson of Oxford, NC. and two brothers Robert L Owen of Rochester, NY and Wilbur Lee Owen of Oxford, NC. Nieces; Jackie Warren of Roxboro, NC, Brenda Ellington and Anee Brooks of Oxford, NC. Nephews, Jeff and Terry Owen of Rochester, NY, Dwight Owen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Steve, Donee and Merle Owen of Oxford, NC., Kenneth Owen of Mt. Olive, NC, Tommy Owen of Burbank, Cal. and Bobby and Jimmy Lumpkin of Oxford, NC. Mrs. Woody is preceded ineeath by brothers, Richard, Bernard, Erby Owen and her foster sisters, Sarah O Puckett, Susie O. Blalock, Ethel O. Lumpkin and a nephew David G.
