Jeanne Marie Lockhead

Jeanne Marie Hutchinson Lockhead, 88, passed away peacefully with her family by her side oneecember 29, 2016 at 11:21am. She was the wife of Gregory Roger Lockhead. They shared almost 60 years of marriage. Born in Salem, Mass. to Charles and Marion Hutchinson, Jeanne graduated from Salem High School as their shortest and cutest cheerleader. ??Then she worked for Uneed Shoe Manufacturing Company where she delivered mail on roller skates.?? Much later, 1965 in Durham NC, she became a teacher assistant at Parkwood Elementary School. She voluneered at Duke Hospital Auxiliary and Duke sportineevents, and she enjoyed bowling, bridge and many friends.?? Her favorite time was anywhere with family and friends on the porch of the family lake house.?? Jeanne knows she was the hosting woman with a contagious smile and always ready to help others. She is survived by her husband, Gregory, children Diane, Elaine and Dana John, grandchildren Dawn, Paul, Rebekah, Tanner, Holly and Hutch, and great grandchildren Joshua, Mzee, Esther, Josie, Paisley and Mildred. She was predeceased by her sister, Olive Farrell, and her brother Charles. The funeral service will be held on January 1, 2017 at 3:00pm at Westmineer Presbyterian Church, 3639 Old Chapel Hill Rd Durham. Flowers, or donations to the charity of your choice, are appreciated.
