Janice Sue Brown Reed, 64, died February 9, 2021 at Stonerise Clarksburg in Clarksburg, WV of sepsis related complications.

Sue was born December 14, 1956 in Buckhannon, WV. She graduated from Buckhannon Upshur High School in 1974 and in 1982 graduated nursing school as an LPN. Much of her career was devoted to the care and comfort of the elderly in nursing homes.

She moved to Burlington, NC in 1985 where she raised her adored daughter and worked until retiring from the nursing profession in 2010. She then moved back to Buckhannon.

Sue was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints being baptized a member in 1964. She served in many callings in the church but particularly loved her position as a primary teacher. It was Sue’s nature to be caring and giving. Her interests included family, Hallmark movies, crocheting, and other various crafts. She crocheted with love special blankets for each of her nieces and nephews. She devoted much of her time to indexing for the church and was one of the top submitters in her area to help digitize names for family history work.

She is survived by one daughter. Ashley Lynne Reed (Zack); one sister, Beverly Kennedy Kleeberg; three brothers, Tom Brown (Joy), Rodney Kennedy (Tonya) and James Kennedy (Nancy). She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews as well as her lifelong best friend, Della Howes.

Proceeding Sue in death are her mother, Betty Campbell Kennedy and sister, Lisa Kennedy Chewning.

A private Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, February 15, 2021 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Durham, NC.

Flowers are acceptable.

The family wishes to thank all who have prayed and expressed their love and concern for Sue and our family.

She will be greatly missed.
