Jane Witt Howell

Durham, NC – Jane Witt Howell, age 75, passed away at UNC Hospital on December 22, 2022. She was born on January 11, 1947 to the late C.S and Sarah Witt .

Jane graduated from Durham High School in 1965 and attended Croft Business College in Durham. She worked in the insurance industry before retiring. Jane’s true love in life was her family. She loved to pick up her grandchildren from school and attended every dance recital, baseball and basketball game that she could.

Jane is survived by her two children, Chris Pickett and Amy Williams as well as three grandchildren, Bailey Pickett, Faith Williams, JD Williams and one great-grandchild Liam Pickett. Jane was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jordyn Williams. Jane is also survived by five siblings, Ann Cox, Mike Witt, Vic Witt, Susan Roghelia, and Jeff Witt.

A celebration of life is planned for Tuesday December 27, 2022. The family will greet friends and family at 1:00 with the service beginning at 2:00 in the chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, 1113 West Main Street, Durham, North Carolina 27701.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
