James Thaniel Faucette

James Thaniel Faucette, 73, of Oxford, NC died Thursday, October 15, 2020. He was born in Oxford on March 4, 1947 to his now predeceased parents, Macon and Sallie Faucette.

James was known by friends and family as J.T. He served in the U.S. Air Force following high school, then graduated from Wake Forest University. Always fascinated by foreign languages and world religions, he went on to graduate studies at Duke University, earning his Master’s degree. Shortly after he started a long career at UPS, which allowed him to travel all over the world in different roles for the company. After UPS, he fulfilled his dream of retiring to a farm in Granville County where he could raise cattle and enjoy the peace of the beautiful countryside.

J.T. is survived by his son, Darrin Faucette and his wife Jamie; daughter, Jill Panichelli and her husband Scott; grandchildren, Samuel, Jacob, Sarah, Joshua, Jonathan, Hannah, Rachel, Elizabeth, Alexandra, and Nathan; and sister, Gladys Roberson and her husband Chester. He is also survived by many loving extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, J.T. is predeceased by his sister, Evelyn Stovall and her husband Gerald.

An inurnment service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
