James Richard Turkaly , Jr.

DURHAM James R. Turkaly, Jr., “Jimmy”, passed away unexpectedly on September 8, 2022. He was 27 years old.

Jimmy was born at Duke University Hospital to parents James Sr. and Ursula Turkaly, and lived his entire life in Durham. After graduating from Jordan High School, he began studies at Durham Technical Community College with a focus on computer programming. Jimmy loved building custom gaming computers with RGB lighting, and was known to camp out in advance of new processor releases. His love of color extended to his sneaker collection, including his favorite Venice Beach Kobe 8s. Jimmy loved his family above all else, and enjoyed it most when they were all gathered together.

Jimmy is survived by his parents, Jim and Ursula, his sister Natalie Schnell of Durham, NC, sister Kristy Turkaly Gabriel and niece Hannah Gabriel of Winterville, GA, brother Joseph Turkaly of Columbia, SC, and step-brother James Garcia of Fayetteville, NC. He was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Remington.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. 

Friends may visit from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
