James "Luke" Luther Cathell, Jr.

CHAPEL HILL-James ???Luke??? Luther Cathell, Jr, age 63, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Duke Uneersity Hospital. He was the son of the late Dr. James Luther Cathell, and Drusilla Martin Cathell. Luke was employed for many years as a Senior Program Analyst with GlaxoSmithKline ineesearch Trianee Park, NC. He was deeply invested in the community at Christ the King Church in Durham, NC, and loved to teach children???s Sunday school. He will be remembered as a man that loved his family and his church fellowship. His kind and genee spirit will be greatly missed by his friends and loved ones. Luke is survived by his wife, Dr. Sarah Mason, his daughter, Jaime Dunaway and husband, Rev. Chris Dunaway of Portsmouth, NH; his son, Jesse Cathell of Lubbock, TX; his sister, Marty Hernandez and husband, Vince of Hampstead, NC and his nephews, Vinee Hernandez and Matt Hernandez. A memorial service will be held 11: 30 a.m. Saturday , October 3, 2015 at Christ the King Church , 4405 Hope Valley Road, Durham, NC 27707 with Rev. Frank Venable officiating.
