James L. Culbreth

James L. Culbreth, 73 of the Mountain Creek Community died July 3, 2016, at his home after a short illness. James was the son of the late Garland and Catherine (Overton) Culbreth. James retired from the State of NC, Murdoch Developmental Center in Butner after 33 years of service as a maintenance technician. He loved his time with the children at the Murdoch Center and being outdoors on his lawn mower and tractors as well as spending time with his family. James will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his sons, Timothy Culbreth of Stem, NC, Andy Culbreth and wife (Billi) of Oxford, NC and daughter; Lori Champion of Oxford, NC. His sister; Mary Ann Martin of Raleigh and eight grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 6, 2016 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hester Baptist Church Cemetery. Gentry- Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home is serving the Culbreth family.
