James “J.G.” Gilbert Elliott, age 82, of Oxford, North Carolina, died on
Saturday, March 2, 2024. J.G. was born on June 25, 1941, to James Roger
Elliott and Rubie Younge Elliott. He lived his entire life in Granville County,
except when he was drafted into the Army to serve his country.
J.G. was a dedicated and hardworking man who had a passion for
carpentry. His commitment to his community and his service to the country
in the Army are commendable.
J.G. is survived by his sister, Rubie Jo Elliott; brother-in-law, Mike Blair; his
niece, Amy B. Sparks (Mike); his nephew, Steven M. Blair (Michelle) and
several great nieces, nephews and extended family/friends too numerous to
name. He will be missed dearly by his beloved pups, Susie, Precious and
Little Man.
J.G. was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Yolanda Blair.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Amis
Chapel Church and will be officiated by Rev. Terry Howard and Rev. Beau
Cooksey. A visitation for family and friends will be held after the service in
the Fellowship Hall. The burial will be in the church cemetery.
Flowers are welcome, or donations in J.G.'s memory can be made to Amis
Chapel Church.
