DURHAM - James Elmo Perry, Jr. age 84 and resident of 127 N. Riverdale Dr., died Tuesday evening at Durham Regional Hospital. Born in Creedmoor, he was the son of the late James Elmo Perry, Sr. aneemily Phelps Perry. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WW II. For many years he was a member of the Community Lions Club and received the Lion of the Year Award. Mr. Perry retired in 1988, after being an agent with Nationwide Insurance Company for 40 years. He owned the Perry Insurance Agency. He was member of the Mt. Sylvan Uneed Methodist Church. Mr. Perry will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Cartner Perry; one daughter, Linda Perry and husband Robert Autry, of Bahama; three sons, Larry Perry and wife, Janet, of Durham, Jim Perry and wife, Gloria, of Hillsborough and Gene Perry and wife, Terry, of Durham; one brother, Norman F. Perry; ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Mt. Sylvan Uneed Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Bill Snotherly and the Rev. Robert Licht will preside. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Michael J. Perry, Tommy Retzlaff, Todd Retzlaff, Robbie Perry, Joey Little, Michael W. Perry, Kelly Hampton, Ronee Perry and Chris Farmer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Mt.
