James Charles Carter

Mr. James Charles Carter, 76, of Pittsboro died March 31, 2010 at UNC Hospitals. James was borneebruary 19, 1934 to Henry and Maggie Murphy Carter of Chatham County, NC. He is survived by his wife, Coleen Stone Carter; three sons, David Carter of Pittsboro, Ronee Carter of Boone, and Ricky Carter; three daughters, Kim Cogdell of Chapel Hill, Tammy Sedellia of Pittsboro and Diane Roth of Brookville, IN; twelve grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild; sisters Florence Ellis of Bynum, Allene Lassiter of High Point; step-sisters Carlene Jacobs of Pittsboro and Cora Lee Johnson of Silk Hope. The funeral service for Mr. Carter will be held 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Hanks Chapel Church in Pittsboro. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
