Ivaleeneedgerton Colclough, age 101, died Friday evening, neember 3, 2006 at the Brianeenter in Durham. She was born and raised in Durham County, the eldest daughter of J.W. and Lora Martin Edgerton. Ivaleene was the last surviving child of nee siblings. She graduated from Bethesda High School in 1924. Ivaleene lived a life of loving service to others. She cared for her mother, father, invalid brother and her husband, James Corbett Colclough, ineer home until their deaths. She shopped for two elderly neighbors weekly. Ivaleene belonged to Bethesda Baptist Church her entire life. She loved her church, sang in the choir, and cleaned the Sunday school rooms and church pews. She counted the offering, and was in charge of Sanctuary flowers for many years. She continued to send her tithe even after she was unable to attend. Ivaleene was the matriarch of her family, and was adored by four generations. Her wry sense of humor often startled the younger members, but they soon understood her caring. One neer left her home without a gift of food or flowers from her gardens. Mrs. Colclough is survived by her two caregiver nieces, Barbara Penick and husband John and Rosa Lee Crews and husband Douglas; three nephews, Clyde Edgerton and wife Kristina, and Jim and Dale Edgerton; six great nieces, four great nephews, and three great-great nieces. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, neember 6, at Bethesda Baptist Church. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 12:45-2:00 PM Monday at Bethesda Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to: Bethesda Church Rose Garden, 1914 S.
