Isaac Womble Straughn

Isaac Womble "Ikey" Straughn, 72, of Wilbur Straughn Road, Pittsboro, died Saturday, May 3, 2008 at his home. Ikey was born April 30, 1936 in Chatham County, the son of Wilbur C. and Ruth Womble Straughn. He was the owner/operator of Chatham Cleaners, and was a US Army veteran. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Uneed Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lessie Scott Straughn; daughter, Betsy S. Mitchell of Pittsboro; sons, Kerry Scott Straughn of Pittsboro, and Ted Chapman Straughn of Durham; six grandchildren. The service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, May 5, 2008 at Pleasant Hill Uneed Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Gooch presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
