Irene Taylor Boykin

Irene Taylor Boykin, 93, of Oxford, NC died Sunday, September 15, 2019.?? She was born in Granville County on May 1, 1926 to Jesse and Maggie (Whitehurst) Clement. After marriage to James (Jim) William Boykin, the couple loved in Sanford, N.C. for a few years and returned to Granville County and lived out their remaining years. Irene is survived by her sister, Ethel McNeil; nephews, Steve (Cathy) McNeill, and Scott (Karen) McNeill; great-nieces and nephew, Ashley (Jordan) Pressley, Jenna (Will) Brown, Laura Beth (Lucas)Wind, and Matthew McNeill; and 6 great-great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 11:00 am at Geneva Presbyterian Church, 4620 Culbreth Road, Oxford, NC.?? The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A private cremationeeremony was previously held with a private urn burial to take place in Elmwood Cemetery at a later time.
