Howard Boyce Connell

Howard Boyce Connell, 88, of Croasdaile Village died Saturday, March 12, at Durham Regional Hospital. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Ruth Sellers Connell of Durham; one son, Douglas Connell and wife, Susan, of Atlanta; two daughters, Cathy Dykes and husband Dr. James Dykes of Durham and Clare Connell and husband Brace Ott of Athens, GA; one brother, Winford Connell of McDonough, GA; five grandchildren, Ashley C. Davis, Howard B. Connell, III, Lia C. Dykes, Shannon M. Connell, and Travis M. Connell and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday, March 19, in Ponder Auditorium of Croasdaile Village. The Rev. Mel Williams of Watts St. Baptist Church will officiate. Friends may visit with the family following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the William Prestoneew Interfaith Chapel at Croasdaile Village, UMRH Foundation, 2600 Croasdaile Farm Parkway, Suite A-500, Durham, NC 27705.
