Helen Spencer Council

OXFORD: Helen Spencer Council, age 83 of Oxford, died February 9, 2014. A native of Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Aneew Bascom and Anee Rochette Burwell Spencer and widow of Calvineecil Council. Helen was a member of Lowe's Grove Baptist Church in Durham, recently attended Oak Hill Presbyterian Church in Oxford and was a homemaker. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11:30 AM from Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel by Reverend Forrest Gale. Burial will follow in Tranquility Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:30 AM prior to the service at the funeral home chapel. Pallbearers will be Donald Council, Robert Council, Jimmy Council, William Council, Donald Ray Dean, Tom Enee, Andy Hielema, Steve Strickland. Surviving is a daughter, Fanee Daniel Strickland Roy of Oxford; her son, Paul Wright Council of Oxford; 2 grandchildren, Sam B. Strickland of Oxford, Roy C. Strickland Kimberly of Charlotte; 3 great grandchildren, Jordyn, Brandon, Travis Strickland of Charlotte. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Lowe's Grove Baptist Church, 4430 S.
