Oneebruary 23rd, 2018 Helen Rose Hunt Williams, 86, a resident of Granville House, Oxford, NC went to be with her Lord. She was born August 14, 1931, the daughter of Walter William and Anee Hoyle Hunt. Helen was married to the love of her life, John Alton Williams, Sr. They raised five sons, John Alton ???Al??? Williams (Debbie) of Mooresville, NC, Walter Bruce Williams, Kenneth Ray ???Kenny??? Williams (Kathy), Randall Lane ???Randy??? Williams (Sharon), and Gary Lynn Williams (Melanie) all of Oxford; ten grandchildren, J. Williams (Iris), Forrest Williams (Ashley), Kelli Williams Boyd (Alan), Ken Williams, Gray Williams, Carson Williams, Landon Williams, Dexter Williams, Hannah Williams, and Austin Williams; two great grandchildren, Beneey Boyd and Jack Williams. She is survived by one sister, Cornelia Adcock (Buck) of Oxford. She is predeceased by her husband, John Alton Williams, Sr.; parents, Anee and Walter Hunt; and a sister, Louise Hunt Strickland. Helen graduated salutatorian from Berea High school where she played basketball and was a cheerleader. She spent her lifetime enjoying meaningful work on the family farm alongside her husband, where they raised tobacco and always had a garden. She worked for many years at A & P and retired from Food Lion in Oxford. She enjoyed quilting, watching western movies, reading, and taking care of her beloved animals, especially her cats. She was a lifetime member of Enon Baptist Church where she treasured her church friends and dearly loved her pastor Steve Brown and his wife, Edna. Visitation will be Sunday, February 25th from 7:00-9:00 pm at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home in Oxford, NC. Her funeral service will be Monday, February 26th at 11:00 am at Enon Baptist Church and will be officiated by Rev. Steve H. Brown and Rev. James C. Shelley. Interment will follow in the Enon Baptist Church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Enon Baptist Church, 2298 Enon Road, Oxford, NC 27565.
